Creamed honey, also known as whipped honey or spun honey, is a type of honey that has been processed to control crystallization. It's made by mixing crystallized honey with liquid honey and then controlling the crystallization process. The result is a smooth, spreadable honey with a creamy texture that doesn't drip or run like liquid honey.
Some key points about creamed honey:
- It's 100% honey - no additives or cream are used despite the name.
- The creaming process makes it easier to spread and less messy to use.
- It has a opaque, light color compared to liquid honey.
- The texture is often described as velvety or butter-like.
- It doesn't separate or crystallize further if stored properly.
Ingredients
Honey. That's the list.
Why did my honey get firm? Can it melt?
Creamed honey is honey whose crystallization we guide on purpose — millions of micro-crystals are what make it spreadable. Store at room temperature. If it softens in summer, a short stint somewhere cool brings the texture back.

This is raw, unfiltered honey. Color, texture, and taste vary naturally with the season, floral source, and harvest — no two batches are exactly alike. Crystallization over time is normal and a sign of pure, raw honey.

This honey blew my mind
Best creamed honey there is. Sooooo smooth with just the right amount of sweetness. Delicious by itself or as a topping.

I wasn't entirely sure what to think when I ordered it. Let me tell you, it's so freaking good. We've put it on toast with strawberries, I cooked it into butter corn, I've eaten it off a spoon. So so so good

Creamed honey questions
Why does the color change?
Temperature. The slightest change in temperature shifts the shade — that's raw honey changing states, which is exactly what raw honey does. Nothing about the honey itself has changed.
What is creamed honey?
It's 100% honey whose natural crystallization has been guided into ultra-fine crystals, giving it a smooth, spreadable, butter-like texture. Nothing is added — "creamed" describes the texture, not an ingredient.
Is it still raw?
Yes. Creaming is a texture process, not a heat process — the honey is never heated past hive temperature and never ultra-filtered, so it keeps everything that makes raw honey taste like raw honey.
Why does it stay spreadable?
Because the crystals are so fine and uniform, the honey holds a soft, stable set at room temperature. Keep the lid on tight and store it in the pantry — no refrigeration needed.
Is crystallization normal?
Completely — all raw honey crystallizes over time. Creamed honey is that same natural process done on purpose, with the crystal size controlled so the result is velvety instead of gritty.
